I would often find the fossilized remains of an ancient ecosystem in my own back yard. Shells mostly, sometimes fishes, carved free by New Zealand's rural heartland rivers from the surrounding mountains and deep limestone cliffs. Decades later my view of the world has become a thought provoking process through the lens, largely inspired by nature - light, water, people or some weird and wonderful creature of the sea.
